Accreditation and Membership

Institutional Accreditation

Unicollege is a degree-granting undergraduate and graduate university accredited by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR). Its academic programs operate within the Italian Higher Education System and comply with national regulations governing degree structure, academic workload, assessment, and quality assurance.

Unicollege is officially recognized as a Scuola Superiore per Mediatori Linguistici (SSML), a category of university-level institutions specializing in internationalized education, applied languages, and intercultural studies.

International Accreditation and U.S. Recognition

As a degree-granting undergraduate and graduate university accredited by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR), Unicollege issues official academic records through its academic record office and, for eligible programs and study abroad coursework, through internationally recognized partner’s academic record office, a international institution, in order to support international academic mobility and recognition.

This structure aligns Unicollege’s academic delivery with international accreditation standards and enables the issuance of Italian and European academic records alongside official international academic transcripts. Through this dual-framework approach, we support academic comparability, credit recognition, and transfer across both European and U.S. higher education systems.

Academic Recognition and Degree Frameworks

Unicollege degree programs are structured Following internationally recognized qualification frameworks and are comparable to degree levels used in U.S. higher education. Within the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), Unicollege awards:

  • Bachelor’s Degrees — EQF Level 6, comparable to a U.S. Bachelor’s degree
  • Master’s Degrees — EQF Level 7, comparable to a U.S. Master’s degree
  • Doctoral Degrees — EQF Level 8, comparable to a U.S. doctoral degree (PhD or professional doctorate)

Academic workload is measured using the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS), which supports transparency and international mobility. For the purposes of advising, recognition, and transfer, ECTS credits are provided with clear U.S.-intelligible conversions, allowing international partner institutions to evaluate coursework and degree levels within familiar academic standards.
