Semester and Year Abroad Programs
Unicollege offers semester- and year-long study abroad programs for students from U.S., Canadian, European, and international partner universities, as well as qualified independent applicants seeking a structured, credit-bearing academic experience within the Italian Higher Education System.
Unicollege study abroad is built on a university-to-university exchange model. Through these exchange agreements tuition is fully waived for students from partner institutions: they pay only the program cost below, which already covers housing, a semester meal plan, and the full range of academic, administrative, wellbeing, and support services detailed on this page.
NB: Partner-institution students join on an exchange basis, with tuition fully waived. Students from non-partner institutions may still apply independently; in that case a tuition cost of € 300 per US credit applies in addition to the program cost.
The program cost covers everything required for a complete, highly supported study abroad experience — tuition is not charged. Expand for the full breakdown.
Additional integrations, services, and upgrades may be requested and are subject to supplementary fees. The complete list of included services is provided in the Full list of included services below.
As a university itself, Unicollege is among the few institutions in the study abroad ecosystem that directly funds scholarships for its international programs. Accessibility and educational equity are central pillars of our internationalization strategy, and each year Unicollege allocates dedicated scholarship funds open to students from all over the world.
Through its university-to-university partnerships, Unicollege also supports the continuity of financial aid awarded by your home institution — including, where eligible, Title IV funding, Pell Grants, and institutional scholarships — subject to your home institution’s policies. Apply for a Unicollege scholarship during the enrollment process; for all scholarship inquiries, contact francesca.serra@unicollege.eu.
Open to students from all backgrounds and intersectional experiences. Applicants autonomously propose a reduction between 1% and 20%, applied to the program cost, with a brief personal statement on the context behind their request.
Examples may include, but are not limited to:
The scholarship committee evaluates each application individually and may grant no scholarship, a partial scholarship, or the full requested amount. Unicollege may request supporting documentation from the student and/or the home institution. False, altered, misleading, or irregular declarations result in immediate removal from the program and an official report to the home institution.
Given that Unicollege already provides tuition-free exchange experiences and redistributes scholarship resources among multiple candidates, irregular applications may prevent other deserving students from receiving support. Utmost transparency and integrity are expected; false declarations may additionally lead to academic and legal consequences where applicable.
As part of the reciprocal value generated through this scholarship, recipients may be invited to take part in ambassador initiatives, testimonials and student stories, presentations and promotional activities, and local and international education fairs. Such activities may run from the start of the awarded semester until one year after its completion. All decisions made by Unicollege are final and non-appealable.
Available exclusively to students enrolled at U.S. institutions participating in Title IV financial aid programs. Unicollege created this continuity mechanism to support students already receiving Title IV assistance at home.
Applicants autonomously propose a reduction between 1% and 40%, inspired by their existing Title IV support tier, applied to the program cost.
Additional documentation may be requested from the student or the home institution. The committee may grant no scholarship, a partial scholarship, or the full requested amount. False, altered, misleading, or irregular declarations result in immediate removal from the program and formal notification to the home institution, alongside any applicable academic and legal consequences.
Recipients may be invited to take part in ambassadorial, testimonial, and institutional promotional activities from the start of the semester and for up to one year after the program ends. All decisions made by Unicollege are final and non-appealable.
